"...her vocals have an expressive range and sweetness that cuts through all that surrounds her." - The Hollywood Reporter
Eva Noblezada was just 18 years old when she debuted as the lead in Miss Saigon in London’s West End. The California native then assumed the role of Éponine in the West End production of Les Misérables in 2016. Noblezada made her Carnegie Hall debut, celebrating Alain Boublil and Claude-Michel Schönberg, performing “The Movie in My Mind” with Lea Salonga and The New York Pops. Eva reprised her performance as Kim in the first Broadway revival of Miss Saigon, which opened at the Broadway Theatre in 2017 for a limited run, receiving a Tony nomination. In 2018, Noblezada received her second Tony Award nomination for her role as Eurydice in Hadestown and won the Broadway.com Audience Choice Award for Favorite Leading Actress in a Musical. Join us for Eva’s cabaret series debut, where she’ll bring us pop ballads, jazz standards, and likely a dash of musical theatre for good measure.
Marilyn Maye
ALL NEW BIG BAND SHOW!
Wednesday Nov 9 & Thursday Nov 10, 2022 7:30 pm both nights
“.. on one side of the room are the Broadway and cabaret people…on the other side is the jazz crowd...Ms. Maye is the only diva working today who can satisfy both crowds at once”. The Wall Street Journal
Sponsored by Robert Wetzel and Brenda Mainer
We have commissioned all new Big Band arrangements of some of Maye’s legendary tunes especially for this event! Maye’s joyful and life-affirming shows are what the world needs now. As an established St. Louis favorite there almost isn’t a need to bring up her historic recordings on the RCA label, her 76 appearances on the tonight show with Johnny Carson (he called her “super singer) or the fact that she was one of Ella Fitzgerald’s favorite singers. Currently she counts Harry Connick, Jr, Jon Batiste and Wynton Marsalis among her fans and recently completed performances throughout the U.S. with more on the books. Her jubilant, personal style of performance is thriving. Rex Reed in the New York Observer put it best “She’s the real deal, the surviving artist of the American popular singer”.
Denise Thimes
A Swingin’ Soulful Christmas
Wednesday Dec 7 & Thursday Dec 8, 2022 - 7:30 p.m. both nights
“Thimes reminded listeners what earthy, soulful jazz singing is all about. No pretense, no affectation, no empty mannerisms — just the whole truth and nothing but the truth, delivered in great surges of sound” - Chicago Tribune
Whether headlining at Dizzy’s Coca Cola Room in New York, Winter’s Jazz Club in Chicago, conquering the national jazz festival scene, or sharing the stage with the legendary Tony Bennett, Denise Thimes has an unmistakable tendency to steal the show and astonish crowds of every size and background. Thimes has drawn comparisons to Sarah Vaughan, Ella Fitzgerald, and all those who came before her – but with a voice uniquely her own. Now splitting time between St. Louis and Chicago, Thimes is a favorite of audiences wherever she goes! Don’t miss her soulful take on your favorite Christmas classics!
