Five Days of top level, pre-professional song performance studies with renowned national and local faculty.                 

The Cabaret Project of St. Louis is partnering with Saint Louis University's Summer at SLU to offer exciting high-level performance development to teens who are on their way up!

Learn from great professional mentors such as one of  Los Angeles top vocal/performance coach Peisha McPhee who coaches top talent at Disney animated films (Moana) and champions on American Idol. Speaking of American Idol, the show's long-time resident pianist/vocal coach Michael Orland brings his expertise too. Michael has music directed/arranged and accompanied some of the top names in the business and has been spending the majority of his time on the with Emmy and Tony winner Kristin Chenoweth (Wicked). Rounding out the faculty are Webster University Jazz Faculty member Carol Schmidt who also serves on the faculty of the St. Louis Cabaret Conference, has music directed/arranged for top St. Louis area cabaret singers, and has toured nationally as part of the vocal duo Jasmine.  The Cabaret Project's founder/producer Tim Schall lends his 15 years of cabaret peforming/directing/producing experience to the Faculty. Schall is also the co-founder/producer of the nationally renowned St. Louis Cabaret Conference.

This unique 5-day intensive offers morning and afternoon group sessions that help your dreams come true as a singer, performer and all around vocal talent. On the final night each singer is individually showcased in a professionally produced evening for the public at the new concert venue The Stage@KDHX in Grand Center.

Admission is by audition only.  There will be two teaching teams with no more than 11 students in each class. 22 students total. 

Dates:   Friday July 13 – Tuesday July 17
Times:   Hours are 9 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Workshop Location:     Campus of Saint Louis University - Xavier Hall,  3733 W. Pine Mall, St. Louis, MO 63108

Performance Location:   Evening performance on Tuesday July 17 is 7:30 p.m. at The Stage @ KDHX, 3524 Washington Ave, St. Louis, MO 63103

Cost:   $495, Lunch is included each day. Lunch will take place on campus. 

Age:    Students entering High School grades of 9- 12 in the fall of 2018 or finishing grade 12 spring of 2018. 

CURRENTLY ACCEPTING AUDITIONS   Please submit the following:

1. A link to a video of you singing a complete song. You may also email the video itself. The song can be any style. 

2. A resume or written description of your performance experience. Include any vocal or musical training you have had.

3.  Your name and the grade you will be in fall of 2018. Please also provide a short paragraph on the why you are interested in this workshop. 

4. A parent's name and the parent's contact information (email, phone).
